🇮🇳 News from India

  • ⁉️ In the major news from India last week, the Central Government forces the CAA: India's new citizenship law. Many of us hear or read stories around how this could be good or bad and I am not here to make a judgement on that. Rather, BBC wrote this explainer which I believe is good to read.

  • 🗳️ Even though we are settlers in Canada, the majority of us always like to keep an eye on Indian Political news. The Election Commission of India announced that the Lok Sabha elections will be kicking off on April 19, 2024 and will be held in seven phases. The results will be declared on June 4.

  • 🏏 These dates of major election are going to conflict with the IPL that is about to start next week. In a recent interview, Jay Shah told the press that they are not changing dates or places for the planned IPL. The first match will be between CSK and RBC on March 22.

Are you playing fantasy cricket?

Ronak, a friend of mine called me yesterday asking if I need to play fantasy cricket. I do not know how to play that, but I am hoping to learn that this year. How about you?

🎥 What to watch this weekend

A biographical movie based on Former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is coming to digital network.

If you haven’t watched the trailer it’s here.

Is it a political marketing tactic?

Is it a master marketing plan by the BJP government to have this film available digitally right before the major election is being held in India?
